Well, this is probably going to be the most disturbing story you’re going to read today, so buckle up, ladies and gentlemen. You’re in for a wild ride.
A woman from New Hampshire is absolutely appalled after discovering that her dead father’s body parts were allegedly stolen from Harvard Medical School’s morgue and then sold on the black market. According to the Daily Wire, she’s now demanding that the popular ivy league institution return the remains of her mother following the incident.
I can’t say I blame her. How in the world could the school allow something like this to happen? It’s a desecration of the body of an image bearer of God. That’s beyond heinous.
“Paula Peltonovich said her parents, Nick and Joan Pichowicz, both had their bodies donated to science after their deaths. Peltonovich, along with her sister, confirmed with the U.S. attorney’s office that their father’s remains were stolen and sold in the alleged criminal scheme, WMUR reported,“ the report said.
“Who could do something like that? What kind of person? No respect at all for the family,” Peltonovich stated. “They need to pay.”
She’s absolutely right. This is ghoulish behavior and is something that our society must not tolerate. If we do not take care of our dead, what does that say about our ability to care for the living?
“Several people stole and sold human remains, including brains and skin, from Harvard Medical School’s morgue, federal prosecutors say. A grand jury indicted Cedric Lodge, 55, the morgue manager, and his wife in the criminal plot, which lasted from 2018 to earlier this year, according to the complaint,” the Daily Wire stated.

The complaint makes the allegation that Lodge made off with some of the remains that were supposed to be cremated and took them to his Goffstown, New Hampshire residence, selling them to folks living in other states. The manager of the morgue was handed a pink slip on May 6.
What, exactly, were these ghouls buying the body parts going to do with them? Surely at this point they weren’t able to be used for anything productive, right?
Peltonovich, in a conversation with the Boston Globe, revealed that she got in contact with the Harvard morgue after discovering the black market plot. The university then told her the horrifying news: her father was a victim of the scheme.
“We were just disgusted,” Peltonovich told the outlet. “Sick, like we were going to throw up.”
“The New Hampshire woman said she is still unsure if her mother’s remains are at the morgue, saying her family has requested that her body be returned,” the DW report stated.
“We want her returned, so we can bury her. We don’t even want them to cremate her,” Peltonovich remarked in the interview.
The woman went on to discuss her parents, both of whom worked in law enforcement positions, and decided to donate their bodies to science “years ago” saying they always had a heart for helping others.
“Nick Pichowicz, born in 1931, served in the Massachusetts National Guard and was a deputy sheriff and part-time police officer. He died in November 2019 at the age of 87. Joan Pichowicz was born in 1936 and served as a police officer in Plaistow, New Hampshire, in the 1970s and ’80s, according to her obituary. She died on March 14, 2023, also at the age of 87,” the report concluded.
