I remember when I was young, there was a huge trend going on. It involved a dance and a song, and was just the “in” thing at that time. I’m talking about ‘Crank That’ by Soulja Boy. It was everywhere, and you couldn’t escape it no matter how hard you tried.
Vehicles passed by blaring the song, it was on the radios, the stores had it playing, and people in the streets and on school grounds were all doing the dance. It was horrible. However, one day, I heard in a distance something that sounded like the Crank That song but was different.
I approached the truck where others were hanging out and as I got closer, I could hear that it was indeed ‘Crank That’, but the instrumental side of the song was completely gone and replaced by some nice rock instrumentals.
Curious, I went home and searched for this remix mashup. I didn’t have anything to go off other than ‘Crank That.’ So, I searched exactly that – ‘Crank That rock remix.’ I found a few results and after clicking on a couple came across the one that I had heard earlier from that truck.
Turns out the remix was done by good ol’ Travis Barker. This rocker turned that annoying song into something that was palatable to the ears.
Later, I found myself rocking to ‘Crank That,’ and it was quite the guilty pleasure. I still couldn’t stand that song, but the rock background was so good, that I just kept listening to it over and over.
And that is a pretty good explanation of who Travis Barker is. He’s well known for his remixes and appearances on different music including hip hop. He also is a versatile drummer and co-wrote many of Blink-182 songs.

The list goes on, but recently if you didn’t know him by this. You’d have heard of him because you know Kim Kardashian, and she’s come out speaking about him recently. If you follow the Kardashians, then you know he married Kourtney, and if nothing else, you may have seen that he was hospitalized for treatment of pancreatitis.

However, that didn’t stop the rock star from enjoying his freedom this Fourth of July.
Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian spent their Fourth of July in the sun after the Blink-182 drummer’s delivery from the clinic.
Barker, 46, posted an Instagram Story photograph from an ocean side Monday as well as an image of an orange pickup truck. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum, 43, did likewise share a video riding in the vehicle with Penelope, 9, and child Reign, 7 while blasting ‘Projectile’ by Bruno Mars.
Both his wife and he wrote on Instagram the importance of self-care and well-being saying: “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” he continued. “During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube,”
He continued saying that he is very grateful and concluded by saying “I am currently much better, Meet the Barkers.”
Both Barker’s ex-wife and current one posted their own stories on the matter giving encouraging messages to their audience and Barker, with his ex-wife even saying she’s praying for a speedy recovery.
Hopefully, the family got some well-deserved rest and relaxation at the beach while taking in the fireworks.
