In a stunning development this week, “The View” has finally freed their studio audiences from the make believe safety and protection of masks. Months and months after being proved mostly useless as the rest of the sane world has dispensed with the chin diaper, studio audiences will now be free to bare their teeth at the cackling hens on The View like crazed chimpanzees. Which coincidentally or not are about as smart as the panel on the insipid daytime program. Oh, for the days of “One Life To Live”. Let’s check out the details:
The ladies celebrated the policy change Monday, with Whoopi Goldberg commenting:
“Look at y’all sitting up here with no masks on. Wait a minute now. So I’m talking and in my mind I’m going what is different about this audience? And then it hits me. No masks. Because I saw your smile and I saw your teeth.
“It’s like great. Well, yeah, we’re getting back to where we were.”
.@TheView finally lifts its mask mandate on set after the rest of the country has long moved on. The audience was always asked to wear masks while the hosts were not. Now, everyone can come without masks. WATCH. pic.twitter.com/xMqehWVNem

Perhaps the rating of The View would be higher, and the ladies would sound smarter if they were the ones required to wear masks. Or muzzles, as is sometime necessary. Another great idea would be to mandate ear plugs for the studio audience, so they could smile and breath, but wouldn’t have to listen to the inane, often racist drivel rolling off these ladies tongues.
I wouldn’t be fair to at least congratulate the ladies for welcoming some reality into the studio. We are at least 18 months removed from knowing masks don’t really do anything and are more for virtue signaling purposes than actual virus prevention.

Fitting is to see The View hold onto mask-wearing for so long. The program long demanded mandates despite evidence that masks had no impact on preventing the spread.
Last year, New York Times acknowledged a study that confirmed mask-wearing had no statistical impact in preventing infection.
Other studies confirmed there was no substantial difference in Covid rates between schools with and without mask mandates.
The Times reiterated said point two weeks ago, penning the following conclusion:
“These observations don’t come from just anywhere. Jefferson and 11 colleagues conducted the study for Cochrane, a British nonprofit that is widely considered the gold standard for its reviews of health care data. The conclusions were based on 78 randomized controlled trials, six of them during the Covid pandemic, with a total of 610,872 participants in multiple countries. And they track what has been widely observed in the United States: States with mask mandates fared no better against Covid than those without.”
It is difficult to feel any sympathy for the studio guests that have willingly masked up to see Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and company launch a full on assault on morals, American values and common sense. The only thing sensible about the show is the name. The View however, is painful, and even with masks off it sounds and smells just as bad too.
