Pop sensation Taylor Swift may have made one of the biggest mistakes of her career by recently coming out and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president, a move costing her tons of Republican fans. It’s not that she has to vote for former President Donald Trump or any Republican for that matter, though that would be awesome. She can participate in the system and vote for the candidates that align with her values. That’s the beauty of America. The mistake was in making that decision public knowledge. Plenty of celebrities keep who they vote for to themselves so as not to alienate fans who might see things differently.
Unfortunately, Swift thinks she’s supposed to use her massive platform to influence young and impressionable minds, many of whom will be casting a ballot for the very first time in November, to follow her lead and support Harris. Sadly, many of her younger fans will probably beg their parents to support Harris too since that’s who their idol believes should be calling the shots from the Oval Office.

The exclusive DailyMail.com poll conducted by J.L. Partners shows the full extent of the global superstars bad blood with the GOP after weighing in on the 2024 race earlier this month. It found Swift has become a victim of polarization with 57 percent of Republicans holding a negative view of the 34-year-old global superstar while 71 percent of Democrats have a positive view of the ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ singer. Among Independents, 50 percent have a favorable or somewhat favorable view of the singer while 27 percent had a negative view of her. The new data was released as part of a poll that also shows a majority of voters think Harris is responsible for higher inflation, the border crisis and the Afghanistan withdrawal.
‘It’s finally happened: Taylor Swift has turned from Miss Americana to The Archer in the political crossfire,’ James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, went on to say about the fallout that Swift is now beginning to face. ‘She is now viewed like many other things in American discourse, from the economy to news networks: through a partisan lens.’
Data for the poll was collected between September 1 to the 15 and featured 1,054 participants who are considered to be likely voters in the November election. Swift announced to the world she would be supporting Harris on Instagram following the first presidential debate between the vice president and Trump. The singer signed the post “Childless Cat Lady” taking a swipe at Trump’s running mate, JD Vance.
According to the polling, multiple groups of voters are shaking off the endorsement and its impact. But it is still a love story for Swift and young people who were ready for the endorsement. Some 52 percent of those ages 18 to 29 said they were more likely to vote for the Democratic presidential nominee because of her endorsement.
‘Though this one might not have had much of an impact immediately, if Swift is active in October in encouraging young people to vote, it could make a difference in swing states with tight margins,’ Johnson also stated. ‘Harris certainly needs her help: our polling shows that 18-29 year olds heavily support Harris but are also some of the least enthusiastic about their vote in November. If that changes, Donald Trump is not Out of the Woods just yet.’
Both Hispanic and Black voters seemingly suggested they would be more likely to cast a ballot for Harris now that Swift endorsed her for the White House. Who in the world actually basis their vote for a critical leadership position like the president on the endorsement of a celebrity? Sometimes I feel like our culture is doomed.

“At the same time, more Independent voters said they were less likely to back Harris because of the endorsement: 27 percent said they were less likely while 24 percent said they were more likely,” the report said. “While Swift’s endorsement has revealed daylight between the singer and some key voters, other endorsements appear to have a bigger impact in the race for president, the polling found.”
Trump has caught some pretty significant backlash of his own after posting on Truth Social, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
For me, I could care less about the former president expressing his feelings about Swift. I just want to get back to the point where I can go to the grocery store and not have to sacrifice a kidney to buy the stuff I need to make a sandwich.
