Extremely popular 90s actress Shannen Doherty, who is known for her role as Brenda on “Beverly Hills 90210,” and for her parts in “Charmed,” and “Mall Rats,” — which is my personal favorite role of hers — was able to finalize her divorce from now ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko, just a few hours before she passed away from Stage 4 breast cancer. The illness had spread to both her bones and her brain.
By the way, if you have not watched “Mall Rats,” a film written and directed by Kevin Smith, what are you waiting for? If you come from the generation that was raised at the mall, you will no doubt relate to the story, the setting, and of course, the characters. It’s 90s slacker comedy at its best, and Doherty is simply amazing in it.

Court documents obtained by Peopleshow that the “Beverly Hills 90210” star agreed to waive spousal support just a day before she died and also agreed to a “default or uncontested dissolution” of the marriage.
Iswarienko, a celebrity photographer, signed the documents on Saturday, the same day Doherty died.
“The parties have entered into a written agreement regarding their property and their marriage or domestic partnership rights, including support, the original of which is being or has been submitted to the court,” the documents went on to say, according to People.
“I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there,” she said on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast. “I felt so betrayed.”
“It is the mutual wish and desire of the parties to effect a full, complete, and final settlement of all their respective property interests, future and present, by this Judgment, and, except as otherwise set forth herein, to irrevocably adjust and determine forever all legal obligations of any nature which may exist with respect to one another and by reason of their marriage, and to fully and completely resolve any and all issues relating to division of property, reimbursement claims and/or credits, spousal support, and attorneys’ fees and costs,” documents revealed.
Ultimately, Doherty was given full ownership, the title, and interest in the property located in western Malibu, along with three vehicles and four bank accounts. Alas, none of that really matters now, sadly.

Shannen also received 100% of the community property interest in retirement assets for her Screen Actor’s Guild pension plan. Iswarienko is responsible for buying out Doherty’s interest in their shared Mooney-20 Airplane “for the sum of $100,000” in a one-time payment, which will be made within five business days of the sale of their Camarillo Hangar.
Community property to be sold with proceeds divided includes a Texas residence to be sold by April 2025 and a catalog of Iswarienko’s photographic work created during their marriage.
Another outcome of the divorce finalization is that any images taken by Iswarienko that feature Doherty must now be taken down from his website. He is banned from “exploiting the photographs” of his ex-wife, according to the court documentation.
Doherty was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Two years later, she announced her cancer was in remission, but the disease returned in 2020. In November, Doherty shared that her cancer had metastasized and spread to her brain and bones.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress, Shannen Doherty,” her representative said in a statement given to Fox News Digital. “On Saturday, July 13th she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease. The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
Prayers for Doherty’s loved ones who are no doubt missing her right now.
