Kadance Fredericksen, a Miss Teen USA pageant queen, passed away on Feb. 17, 2025 as a result of a head-on collision in Santa Rosa County, Florida. She was only 18-years-old.
We are not guaranteed another moment of life, ladies and gentlemen. None of us knows when our time on earth is up. This young woman was at the beginning of her journey, no doubt with plans for the future. All of that has become naught but ash. Momento mori.
Fredericksen’s vehicle smashed head on into a tractor trailer at around 1:30 in the afternoon on a highway. The young lady was the Miss Okaloosa County teen representative at last year’s Miss Teen USA.
Members of her family revealed that Fredericksen had already been accepted into nine colleges, which is super impressive. She was working toward fulfilling her dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Family also described her as being “absolutely perfect” and having “the whole world at the palm of her hands.”
“The Miss Florida USA Instagram account also confirmed Fredericksen’s death on Instagram, and shared a carousel of images alongside a touching message,” The Daily Caller reported.
“Our pageant community has lost a beautiful soul – one who was a true light in this world,” the organization said in its post. “She was ambitious, driven, kind, and a leader among her pageant sisters.”

“In times of grief, we are reminded to love one another and cherish each day as a gift. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who are mourning this devastating loss. May we honor her memory by carrying forward the light she so effortlessly shared with the world and our Florida pageant community,” it added.
The group wrapped up the post by saying, “Forever our Queen,” and then honoring her memory with a verse from Scripture. “‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’ – Psalm 34:18,” the post says.
Baker School gave tribute to Fredericksen by posting on Facebook, offering up their support and encouragement for those grieving the young woman’s tragic and untimely death.
“A candlelight vigil is planned for Feb. 19 at the Baker School football stadium at 7:00 p.m., and mourners are encouraged to bring a teddy bear in Fredericksen’s honor. The pageant queen had created an organization called Kada’s Promise, a company dedicated to collecting teddy bears and blankets and distributing them to children enduring abuse and trauma,” the report continued.
Life is not an inexhaustible well of experiences. How many more times in your life will spend a quiet evening with your loved ones? How many more times will you go fishing? Or watching the sun set?
It could be only a few more times before life is at its end. We do not know when we will shrug off this mortal coil.
Hug your family tonight.
