Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha has accused the Duchess of cruelly “watching and doing nothing” as their father suffered a major stroke.
Thomas Markle, 77, fell while out shopping and had to be helped onto his feet a few days before being rushed to the emergency room, having reportedly suffered a ‘major stroke.’
Speaking to Dan Wootton on GB News, Samantha,57, said her estranged sister had failed to talk to her about their father’s poor health and accused her of “elder abuse.”
Meghan is estranged from her father after years of tumult and family in-fighting. It has gone on since her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, which Thomas Markle could not attend due to his ill health. Despite a backlash of criticism for ignoring her father’s pleas to let him attend the wedding, Meghan chose to go ahead with the lavish ceremony regardless.

A week before he was due to fly to London for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, Thomas lost the ability to speak. He is reportedly receiving treatment in a clinic in Chula Vista, California, just a few hours away from Meghan’s LA mansion she shares with Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lilibet.
Thomas Markle, who lives in Mexico, was rushed across the border in an ambulance at around 9 am on Monday.

It is unknown whether Meghan will make the short trip to visit her sick father, but considering her blasé attitude about his poor health in the past, it seems rather unlikely. Especially with the excitement of the couple’s multimillion-dollar Netflix documentary to think about.
“He’s been through so much,” said Samantha on Dan Wootton Tonight.
“‘Two heart attacks, a pandemic, and now a stroke. None of us have heard from Meghan – that’s negligence.
“If she can’t find it in her heart or have the moral conscience to step forward, then shame on her. He doesn’t have a lot of time. She’s going to have to live with that for the rest of her life.
“She could have contacted him to work things out at any time and she hasn’ . How can she watch him suffer like thi ? Who does that?” said Samantha.
Before his health scare, a distressed and sad Thomas Markle had planned to go to London with a TV crew to issue Meghan with an “ultimatum” to his daughter Meghan – demanding that she allow him to see his grandchildren and redevelop a relationship with him.
Royal expert and biographer Tom Bower said the doting father was upset that Meghan had cut him out of her life:
“Well I’m in touch with him for my book for some time and he’s very upset and he’s very unhappy . He was a very loving father to Meghan and supported her throughout her childhood when her mother wasn’t there and paid for her student fees too and he was very upset he hasn’t been able to see his grandchildren,” Bower told Good Morning Britain.
Speaking to GB News last month, Thomas insisted he wanted to attend the Jubilee weekend to let the Queen know how much he respects her and England, despite Meghan and Harry’s underhanded criticism and accusations of institutional racism.
“I’m going to show my respect for the Queen, and I’m going to make sure that the Queen understands that my entire family respects the Queen and the royals.
“We admire them and we want them to know that’s how we feel about them and that’s how we feel about England.”
