Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is “sick of Republicans” using the crisis at the southern border as an issue to help them win elections, stating that if American voters elect him president he will take action and “get the job done.” Whether you like DeSantis or not, you have to admit that on this topic, he’s right on the money. The left is using an open border policy in order to play around with demographics in the country and win elections. Some of the folks on the right see an opportunity to whine and complain, rage and rant, about all of the illegal migrants, making promises to do something about it if voters give them a chance, then end up doing nothing.
Fortunately, ever since former President Donald Trump popped on the political scene, more and more MAGA-minded individuals have been installed in various key positions in both chambers of Congress, so there’s a much greater interest in actually getting things done. In fact, DeSantis owes his becoming the governor of Florida to Trump’s support during his first campaign. Which is why some people are so ticked at him for running for president, believing going against Trump and siphoning off votes from him is a form of betrayal after he backed his campaign.
The Daily Wire is reporting:
DeSantis made the remarks during a CNN presidential town hall event in Iowa on Tuesday night when asked by a member of the audience what can be done to address the issue. He said that he will “empower states to enforce immigration law,” which would allow states like Texas to immediately deport illegal aliens back across the U.S. border.
“I am going to build the border wall,” the Florida Republican said. “And I remember in 2016, I went to the rallies with Donald Trump, he said he was going to build the wall and have Mexico pay for it. And that didn’t happen. And why didn’t it happen? Well, one, I think he got distracted. And he didn’t do it on day one. But two, he didn’t utilize the levers of power that he had. So how do you get Mexico to pay for it? Well, they’re not just going to give us money. … Here’s what you do. You impose fees on the remittances that workers send back to foreign countries, Mexico, Central America, really all over the world, you’d raise billions of dollars, we’ll put it into constructing the border wall.”
“We as Republicans, probably 99% blame Biden for 8 million people coming in illegally,” he added. “It’s been bad for the country. And I do too. But here’s the thing. If Trump had built the border wall, it would have been very difficult for Biden to bring in all those many people. That’s why you want a wall. It’s a physical fact of life, that even an open-border president would not be able to get around so I will get the job done. The talk is cheap. And I’m sick of Republicans always using this issue every election cycle, to try to get donations and to try to tell the people if you do it, we are going to bring the issue to a conclusion.”

The best way to handle the border crisis is simple. Build the wall, enforce the law. Not difficult, nor does it require someone to possess all of his mental faculties to implement such a strategy. So why isn’t Biden taking action to protect Americans and our national security? Because he’s purposefully compromising it in order to help win future elections, as stated earlier.
