A recent trend that has been unfolding over the course of the last several years is that of actors and actresses packing up their families and their belongings and moving the h*** out of Los Angeles. There have been a number of factors that have contributed to this phenomenon, including the skyrocketing cost of living — if rich celebrities think things are far too expensive and oppressive in Cali, just imagine the awful time normal folks are having — and the spike in crime that is engulfing the state and especially L.A.
That’s what made up legendary actress Goldie Hawn’s mind about her true feelings for Los Angeles. In a recent interview on the SiriusXM Podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa,” Hawn revealed her home had been burglarized two times in a period of four months.
“What if we couldn’t live in L.A, where would we live? We both decided, I think it’s Palm Desert (California). … It’s so safe,” Hawn said during the interview with Ripa, speaking of herself and Kurt Russell, her longtime boyfriend of forty years. Anyone else wonder why in the heck they just don’t get married? I mean, it’s been four decades already.
“It’s just because L.A. is terrible. I mean, we were robbed once,” she then said.

Hawn went on to describe what happened the first time her home was burglarized. She said she and Russell were out of the house for just two hours before coming back home to discover what happened.
“We came back and went in the house. I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet. I just lost it,” Hawn explained in the podcast. “They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets.”
She detailed the mess the criminals made saying, “And they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated, and they got a lot of my goodies, if you know what I mean.”

The Academy Award-winning actress said she assumed it was something she would only experience once, but that wasn’t the case. “So, I’m thinking, ‘Oh, my God, so the chances are, I guess that’s it,’” Hawn told Ripa. “It’s gotta be. The odds are that’s not gonna happen again.”
But then, four months later, that’s exactly what happened. The actress said she was home alone with her dog when she heard a noise.
“I hear this big thump upstairs — and I was alone; Kurt wasn’t there — and I went, ‘What the hell was that?’” she recalled. “It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere? And as it turned out, the next day, we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.”
Ripa responded, “That’s terrifying.”
Indeed it is.
A person should be able to relax and feel safe, comfortable, in their own home. The reason so much of this awful stuff is happening in L.A. is because the city has gone totally soft on crime. It’s a trend seen around the country thanks to district attorneys who have been bought and paid for by diabolical leftists billionaire George Soros. These DAs are allowing criminals — many of them with violent criminal pasts — to be set loose on the streets. Those who are committing crimes are not even being sent to prison in the first place.
More bad guys on the street, less cops to keep them in line. No wonder Kurt and Goldie are trying to “Escape From L.A.” If you got that reference, please clap. I said that in my best Jeb Bush voice.
“I couldn’t believe it. What is happening here?” Hawn said, adding that she has had additional protection since the incidents. “I’ve had a guard, especially when I’m alone now,” Hawn said. “I’m never without a guard. We have a nice relationship with our guard.”
What about regular people who can’t afford to hire personal bodyguards or other safety measures? Something needs to be done about the rampant crime. That will never happen as long as California is ruled by the left.
