A lot has been happening in the sports world that many do not know about. These events may be unknown because of a general dislike of sporting events in general, or it could be the myriad of ways in which politics have taken over the sporting headlines. After all, when sports news has to be a twenty-four hour cycle, journalists are forced to branch out in whatever way they can to make a splash.
So as a quick recap, for those of you who don’t follow sporting events, there’s been a lot going on. People have been chanting “F*** Joe Biden” in college football games and it made it’s way to other sporting events where the rallying cry begins as “Let’s Go Brandon” thanks to a journalist refusing to hear what she heard. Tom Brady is still playing spectacular football as the 44 year old quarterback just threw his 600th touchdown pass, the first to do so in the sport! Hockey season just began on Oct 12, 2021. Golf had some hilarious moments between rivals Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChampbeau.
And that’s not even getting into the dozens of articles written about COVID-19, athlete opinions on politics and pandemics. As you can see, there is still big money in sports no matter how people felt about it during the “anthem protests” or how many boycotts have been enacted by private citizens all over the country for various reasons. That’s why it was such a loss to the state of Georgia when this past April, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, Rob Manfred, took away the All-Star Game, aka the Summer Classic, and moved it to Denver, Colorado.
The Daily Wire reports that Atlanta and her small businesses may have lost up to $100 million dollars when the game was taken away from them. So why was the game taken away? “The All-Star game was moved as a form of punishment so that moving forward, other states would think twice about making laws the Left opposes.”
What did this law include that caused such great offense to Major League Baseball? What was so heinous that a game which had already been scheduled and prepared for had to be moved to an obviously “Blue” state? They tightened up their election laws and it was blown widely out of proportion by many journalists and of course, President Joe Biden who stated of the law, “If you want any indication that it has nothing to do with fairness, nothing to do with decency, they passed a law saying you can’t provide water to people standing in line while they’re waiting to vote.”
In fact, the law says no such thing. What it really says is “No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector.”
So, as the Daily Wire reported above, moving the game was about hurting a state that made a law that the left didn’t approve of. But guess who just made the World Series and will host two, if not three games? That’s right. Georgia’s Atlanta Braves made it into the World Series and will be able to make up for some of the losses from the pulled game this past summer!

Even better? Their opponents are the Houston Astros. While the city might be blue, we all know Texas is as red as Georgia, and that’s why the Daily Wire has dubbed the series “The Red State” World Series!
While Stacey Abrams and the MLB stole the All-Star Game from hardworking Georgians, the Braves earned their trip to the World Series this season and are bringing it home to Georgia.
