In the aftermath of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania over the weekend, former first lady Melania Trump posted a statement calling for national unity in our country. It was a touching and thoughtful thing to say after a nutcase just tried to murder your husband.
And honestly, it’s the correct attitude to have in times such as these, when our nation has never, ever been more divided than it is right now. Much of that is the result of extremist left-wing media that has been given the task of being the Democratic Party’s propaganda makers.
Now, popular actress Shailene Woodley is being dragged for sharing the former first lady’s post. Yes, that’s right. Woodley apparently also believes that we’ve become too divided as a nation and that the act of violence against Trump, which resulted in his taking a bullet in the ear and one attendee of the event dead, is an act both sides should agree to disavow.
That, it seems, would require the radical left to have souls and basic human decency, neither of which the vast majority of liberals seem to possess.
via Newsweek:
Melania Trump broke her silence after the incident with a two-page statement where she described Crooks as “a monster who recognized my husband as an inhumane political machine.”
Woodley, who is best known for her roles in the Divergent film series and HBO‘s Big Little Lies, reshared a screenshot of the statement to her Instagram stories without comment. It was then picked up by the X, formerly Twitter, account Pop Crave, which showed Woodley’s Instagram posts side-by-side with a photo of the actress.
“Shailene Woodley reposts Melania Trump’s statement on her husband’s assassination attempt,” it said in the caption to the post. Why is calling for unity and an end to politically motivated violence such a bad thing? Well, to put it simply, radical left-wing ideology is pure evil. There. I said it. The quiet part. Nobody else felt like saying it, but never fear. I have zero you-know-what’s to give.
“Good for her, she doesn’t even have to be for him to have empathy for the situation. People are so weird these days. If you don’t like someone it’s like you can’t even express you’re happy they didn’t die. 🥴🤷🏼‍♀️” said @mollyvegas.

“how tf you gonna star in a dystopian film and then still end up being a MAGA?” remarked the clearly brain dead @bigarms4me.
Then @feralmeemaw responded to the post: “I mean the flop to MAGA pipeline is getting popular. How many youtube beauty girls went full MAGA during a controversy? i’m assuming the money’s there.”

It is not known whether Woodley shared the Melania Trump statement as a show of political support, but the actress has previously been outspoken in her views.
In 2016, she publicly endorsed and campaigned for Bernie Sanders‘ presidential nomination run and protested the proposed construction of a crude oil pipeline in North Dakota.
This hardly sounds like a person who is MAGA. Sanders is a Democratic Socialist who is on the polar opposite of Trump and unless something major has happened, I doubt her politics have shifted dramatically.
Melania Trump, who has kept a low public profile since her husband left the White House, released the rare public statement after Donald Trump‘s injury.
She urged Americans not to “forget that differing opinions, policy, and political games are inferior to love,” and that “we are all humans, and fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help one another,” because “love, compassion, kindness and empathy are necessities.”
“And let us remember that when the time comes to look beyond the left and the right, beyond the red and the blue, we all come from families with the passion to fight for a better life together, while we are here, in this earthly realm,” she said in her statement. “Dawn is here again. Let us reunite… Ascend above the hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence.”
Amen.
