Willie Robertson, one of the main stars of the television series “Duck Dynasty,” pointed out during an interview with popular conservative journalist Tucker Carlson that backing President-elect Donald Trump has become “kind of cool.” Which is a true observation. More and more celebrities and young people are coming out boldly in support of Trump, caring little about the potential societal consequences of doing so. It’s not only a major win for our culture and for Trump himself, but also for freedom of speech. We are shifting back toward the right and it’s glorious.
According to Breitbart, during the pair’s conversation, Robertson expressed that it was his belief all along that Trump was going to defeat Harris in the 2024 election, stating he himself called it for the president-elect at “8:33 Central Time.” He said that the energy buzzing around Trump this election cycle felt very similar to the way it did back in 2016. He also noted that people who supported Trump this time weren’t ostracized as much as they were in both 2016 and 2020.
“I called it at 8:33 Central Time that night,” Robertson went on to say. “When I saw Virginia and North Carolina sitting sober. Virginia was close … I was like, it’s over.” The former reality star stated that he wasn’t sure about North Carolina, though he pointed out Trump was “winning” Virginia “early on.”
“I had a good sense about it,” Robertson explained. “It felt like it did in ’16. I was just kind of looking at the culture and looking at what people were saying. I was just like, ‘He’s got a lot of people that are…’ you know, because it wasn’t as weird as it was before. Now it’s kind of cool; it was like you weren’t ostracized as much.”
Trump ended up winning the presidential election over Harris and won all seven swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. Robertson pointed out that in 2020, “people did not like” Trump, adding that he had predicted Trump would win the 2020 presidential election over President Joe Biden due to the economy being “strong” and the United States not being “in a war.”
“I remember that year somebody asked me who I thought was going to win, and I said, ‘Trump,’” the “Duck Dynasty” star added. “I said, ‘Trump’s got this. There’s no way he can lose. The economy’s strong, we’re safe, we’re not in a war.’ I said, ‘That’s it. That’s game over.’ I said, ‘Unless something really weird happens.’”
Robertson has been a fan of Trump’s from the very beginning, backing him during his first race for the White House in the 2016 race. He heaped praise on him for being a “real leader” who represented “success and strength.”
And that’s why so many people have come around, even former Democrats or anti-Trump folk. We need strong leadership. Trump exhibits the kind of qualities that are needed for leading a country. Things ran a lot smoother with him at the helm. His leadership has also led to the formation of future generations of like-minded leaders in various positions in government that will help keep our nation great.
