Pop sensation Taylor Swift has issued a threat of legal action against a college student from Florida who has made it his life’s work — so far — to track her private jet as it flies all around the world. However, it seems the threat is largely empty, because nothing has come of it. However, the student did reveal that Swift flew an astounding 178,000 miles in a single year. That’s a pretty large carbon footprint she’s leaving behind, wouldn’t you agree?
Isn’t that kind of, oh, I don’t know, hypocritical for someone who claims to be an advocate for the climate? I mean, if you want people to take the things you say seriously, shouldn’t you first practice what you preach? Kind of seems like common sense to me.
According to the folks at Breitbart:
Computer student Jack Sweeney remains defiant and still posts the whereabouts of the singer’s two private jets, although she sold one earlier this year, as Breitbart News reported. The 21-year-old has doubled down on releasing flight data, and this month released a YouTube video of all of Taylor’s flights from 2023, which would be enough to fly around the globe seven times.
The U.S.Sunreports the avid flight tracker hasn’t counted how many there are but was told it’s over 170 flights.
The video concludes with the insight “Swift’s two private jets flew 178,000 miles in 2023 equivalent to flying around the earth seven times. emitting ~ 1200 tons of C02 in the process. That’s 83 times the average American.”
Sweeney added a direct Taylor quote, “Jet lag is a choice.”
The target of the threats issued by Swift runs a number of social media accounts that are dedicated to following her and a number of other celebrities’ private jets as a means of measuring their carbon pollution levels.
A lot of folks in our culture are greatly amused by the hypocrisy of celebrities like Taylor Swift who constantly harass people about climate change and the need to make changes to their lifestyles, all the while doing the very things they tell them to stop doing.
A separate study by Yard, a sustainable marketing agency that gathers data on the celebrities with the “worst private jet Co2 emissions,” found Swift was the biggest celebrity CO2e polluter of 2022, amassing a vast 22,923 minutes in the air, which amounts to nearly 16 full, 24-hour days in the sky.
There is plenty of scientific disagreement over climate change and its causes, so the science is hardly settled, contrary to the narrative pushed by the left. But that hasn’t stopped the rich, powerful, and famous from lecturing the rest of us on how we ought to stop driving to work and flying to places we want to visit.

Let’s be real. The only reason so many celebrities come out in favor of the issues the way they do is because they are scared of the left. Period. Many of them likely disagree with progressive thought, but if they don’t play ball, well, their careers crash and burn.
