Chicago Gone Wild! Train Victim Brings Knife to Gun Fight, Wins!

Note: This article may contain commentary or the author's opinion.

You ever heard the old cliche, “you don’t take a knife to a gunfight”? I assume that’s good advice, though better advice would be to avoid gunfights at all costs.

Unfortunately, in some of our larger, progressive run cities, it’s getting harder and harder to avoid either.

I suppose if I had to choose one, I’m going knife fight. At least I have a sporting chance of outrunning a knife rather than a bullet. Sadly, if I know myself, I won’t run from either. Better brush up on my knife skills!

I have family in Chicago and based on recent activity in the Windy City I’m going to need those knife skills. And maybe a gun as well!

Let’s check with Conservative Review for the shooty-stabby details:

A robbery victim stabbed to death a 15-year-old male who pulled gun on him early Monday aboard a Chicago train — the second time in three days that a city train passenger fought back with a knife against attackers.

A man was aboard a Red Line train near 63rd Street just after 3 a.m. when a group of seven approached him, and one member of the group — the 15-year-old male — pulled out a gun in an apparent attempt to rob the man, WBBM-TV reported

“So you have this individual on the train. You have a group of seven people. One of them ups what appears to be a handgun based upon the evidence that has been given to us … by [Chicago Transit Authority]. At that point, the person who appears to be being robbed takes out a knife, stabs that person with the gun. That person is now deceased,” Deenihan said.

Usually, a knife in a gun fight is always going to end with one less person with a knife. Especially considering the gunman has a full entourage of accomplices.

It’s sad that a teenager had to die, but what is a person supposed to do? You have to protect yourself, and if a knife is all you have, a knife it is.

The stabbed teen ran for help and made it to the 6300 block of South Yale Avenue, where he collapsed, the station said, adding that he was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he later died.

“When that person is leaving, they place the gun somewhere, and one of the other individuals in the group that was with that individual picks up that apparent weapon and flees the scene,” Deenihan added, according to WBBM. “Everybody fled the scene.”

It’s curious that everyone, including the person with the knife fled the scene. What are they hiding? Why flee when you are the clear victim?

Crime is rampant across the country. Our large cities just aren’t safe. What do you do? Most of these Dem controlled cities have strict guns laws, which is ironic because of the amount of gun crime going on. I guess a knife is the solution?

I suppose Brandon and his cast of clowns will be trying to outlaw knives?

CTA Vice President of Security Kevin Ryan told WBBM the self-defense exhibited aboard city trains isn’t wise: “What the Chicago police will tell you to do — do not fight back. Be compliant. Do not put yourself in harm’s way further.”

Wrong. If someone comes at me on the train, I will not be a victim. That’s part of the problem with our country, we are becoming willing victims. I don’t have a knife, and I have no plan on getting one, so I don’t know what I would bring to the gunfight. I guess the best plan is to stay safely in Red America until we can flip the script and start to clean up our major cities.
