Actress Susan Olsen, most widely known for her role as Cindy on the hit television classic, “The Brady Bunch,” recently revealed that she believes the plans to reboot the series got scrapped due to her political beliefs. You can probably already guess which side of the spectrum she’s on without needy any clues or hints. If you said “conservative,” my friend, you need to give yourself a slap on the back.
Check out some of the details via the Daily Wire:
The 63-year-old actress discussed what happened during a newly published episode of the WalkAway Campaign podcast this week. Olsen mentioned how producers concocted a follow-up version of the show where all the Brady kids were adults with different political leanings. She said it would have resembled the “Roseanne” reboot from 2018 that had “a family with completely different political opinions, and in the end, they all love and respect each other.” Olsen said Greg Brady (Barry Williams) would have been “a Reagan Republican,” Jan Brady would be a liberal, and Cindy would be a libertarian podcaster with views similar to the actress’s real beliefs.
“I am what I was going to portray, so what kind of show would this be if I can’t say anything that’s controversial?” Olsen explained during the interview. “I did have a phone call with my [TV] siblings calling me and my agent. Everybody was saying, ‘We’re sorry, but they just won’t budge. They just will not have you in this.’ I’m like wow, I’ve been canceled. A role that I’ve played for over 50 years, I can’t play it now because I’m too dangerous. So I was like ‘Well, okay guys, good luck, I hope you can sell it.’”
This isn’t the first time cancel culture ravaged Olsen’s career. Back in 2016, the actress was booted from a talk radio show in Los Angeles called “Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics,” after she got into an on-air tiff with guest Leon Acord-Whiting who insulted her as being a “Trump fanatic” and lobbed allegations of spreading “outrageous misinformation” against her.
Acord-Whiting published a post on social media featuring a private message Olsen is alleged to have sent him on Facebook that he says contains “hateful speech.” LA Talk Radio then fired her. You know, that sounds an awful lot like liberal privilege, doesn’t it? Getting silenced for sharing controversial opinions just because someone whines and cries about it?
Olsen said CBS had a 50-page dossier of past comments that could be considered controversial, including her questioning of the COVID vaccine and her saying that “gender affirming” surgeries for minors were causing “irreparable damage.” The actress agreed to the network’s suggestion that she take a course on “political correctness” if needed.
“They did a web search, and they came up with 50 pages,” the “Brady Bunch” star went on to elaborate. “The resounding result was ‘no, we cannot have her in a show. If we go forward with this project, it will not be with her.’ To be honest, those 50 pages were my greatest hits. I stand by everything I said.”
The actress stated that they all kept trying to make the project a reality, including holding a Zoom meeting that she says felt like an “inquisition” with the showrunner, the program’s producer, and her agent. While on the call, Olsen says she was asked about where she stands on a number of hot-button issues.

The actress said her agent mentioned trying to “circumvent” CBS, but she decided to let it go. “No, I’m done. At this point, you’re going to have a woke Brady Bunch, and I want no part of it,” Olsen said at the time.
Bravo for her. Olsen stood strong against the Hollywood woke zombies and refused to sell out her soul for relevancy. If only there were more celebs in the entertainment industry who had her conviction and steel spine. Perhaps we could begin to take back the institution of the arts?
