Brad Pitt, one of the finest actors in the entertainment industry, got some absolutely tragic news this week, as it has been revealed that the daughter he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, Shiloh, 18, has decided to have “Pitt” removed as her last name. Shiloh had her name changed on her 18th birthday. Man, what a slap in the face to the man she calls her father, who raised her and helped provide for her over the course of those 18 years. Just plain awful.
Any guesses as to what she wants her new last name to be? Bueller? Bueller? If you guessed “Jolie,” give yourself a rousing round of applause because you are right right on the money. What? Were you expecting a cash prize or something? Seriously? You people expect far, far too much.
Here’s more from PEOPLE:
The documents were filed on Monday, May 27, which also happened to be Shiloh’s 18th birthday. TMZ first reported the news. Jolie and Pitt share six kids together — Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, Pax, 20, Knox, 15, and Vivienne, 15.
Shiloh isn’t the only child of Jolie and Pitt to appear to go by a different name. In the Playbill for the new musical The Outsiders, which their daughter Vivienne helped mom Jolie produce, the teenager is listed as “Vivienne Jolie” instead of “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt,” PEOPLE confirmed.
As of this writing it is not known if Vivienne has also decided to legally changer her name as well.
Last November, while joining the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at her university, Spelman College, the former couple’s eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” a video shared by Essence showed.
Dang man.
Has Angelina Jolie become so embittered against Pitt that she’s done the typical angry ex-wife thing and poisoned the children against their father? It’s kind of looking that way, isn’t it? There has been reports for years that the relationship between Pitt and his kids has been strained, dating back to when Jolie first filed for divorce and sought sole custody of the kids in 2016.
A source close to Pitt informed PEOPLE back in the summer of 2022 that the actor, who is now 60, was hoping to heal the relationship with his children as the custody battle raged, referring to the matter as having been “a sad situation for years.”

“Since Angelina filed for divorce, Brad has been focused on having the best relationship possible with his kids,” the insider went on to say to the outlet. “It’s been very difficult for him. Many times, there have been long gaps where he didn’t see the kids at all.”
As the exes have battled in court over custody and their winery Chateau Miraval, Jolie’s lawyer said in a recent statement to PEOPLE: “All Angelina has ever wanted was separation and health, with positive relationships between all members of their family, including Mr. Pitt.”
I can’t imagine how much that had to feel like a knife in the chest. It’s fairly common for ex-wives to try and ruin the reputation of the father in the eyes of the children when a relationship comes crashing to an end. I sincerely hope that isn’t what’s happening here.
Then again, that would probably be better than finding out Pitt is some kind of vile, abuse person who hurts his children. I don’t think that’s the case, but you never know. Hollywood twists people’s souls.
