It should be common knowledge that if you piss of the employees of a restaurant, bad things might happen. Having worked in the service industry, I can neither confirm nor deny that certain “accidents” could happen to your food if you are rude or send food back too many times. It’s just the natural consequences of being entitled, or a jerk to people that have FULL CONTROL over your food. Same goes for delivery drivers. Drivers are often tasked with making multiple stops, trying to deliver the correct orders in a timely manner and usually on their own dime where the vehicle and gas are concerned. So, what do you expect if you fail to tip well, or at all? Perhaps a few less fries? Maybe a bite out of your pizza? I’d call it even. Check this out.
If you leave a lousy tip when ordering your food through a delivery service you might not get what you ordered. One DoorDasher has documented this time and time again on social media. He even documented eating a customer’s order after receiving a $1 tip.
The delivery driver goes by the name Doordash Tips on TikTok. He starts the video of himself eating a customer’s order by opening up the DoorDash deliver bag to see what the customer had him pick up.

To be clear, I don’t condone this behavior, nor am I sure it’s completely real in this case. Having delivered for DoorDash and Uber Eats in the past, (what, you think this is how I make a living?), I feel reasonably sure that after one or two customer complaints, either platform would deactivate and deplatform the driver. Rightfully so, as customers shouldn’t have to worry about someone messing around with their food. Also, most places seal the bag and make it difficult to get into the contents without destroying the packaging. However, there is a flip side to this. Not to excuse bad behavior, but how about tipping like a grown up if you order food? If someone is picking your chicken nugs up in their personal car, using their gas, how about doing better than a buck or two? If that isn’t possible, then how about this; get your own damn food! Deliver drivers and ride share drivers put miles on their own personal cars and pay for their own gas just so some lazy ass doesn’t have to get off the couch to get Subway. Be an adult and compensate these folks properly or get your own car and food!
He says as he’s rummaging through the bag, “DoorDash customer only tipped one dollar, hmm let’s see what he got at Arby’s huh?”
“Beef and cheddar, he’s got the French dip, and the crinkle fries. Oh man, that’s my favorite.”

The dasher, as the kids call them, reaches in and pulls one of the fries out of the bag. He says as he chews on the food, “Thank you $1 tipper. Peace.”
If a DoorDash driver doesn’t feel like the tip is sufficient, they don’t have to take the order. Many restaurants have trouble expediting orders for delivery when there isn’t an adequate tip included to draw a driver. Based on that, I call b.s. on this particular driver. He seems to be just exhibiting bad behavior for the likes on TikTok. That being said, the lesson here is clear. Tip your drivers! Most decent people wouldn’t dream of going to a bar or restaurant and not tipping their server, lest they get what they deserve from the kitchen. Treat delivery drivers the same, and maybe you will have all ten nugs next time you are hankering for McDonalds and don’t want to get off the couch.
