Chris Pratt, most widely known for his role as Peter Quill in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and as the lead in “Jurassic World,” made a call on Wednesday morning for all believers everywhere to pray for firefighters in Los Angeles who are going toe-to-toe with wildfires that have been swallowing up portions of the city for the second day in a row.
Pratt took to social media platform X where he wrote, “Join me in praying for the brave firefighters sacrificing so much to save our houses and our town. Jesus protect the lives of those battling the flames and the lives of those who couldn’t evacuate. #PalisadesFire.”
Not long after this post, the actor made another one, once again calling for prayer.
“Please send prayers and strength tonight to everyone in Los Angeles affected by these devastating fires. Los Angeles is in a state of emergency and over 30,000 have been ordered to evacuate. Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who are working tirelessly to protect lives, homes, and wildlife as they battle fast-moving wildfire fueled by fierce winds. You are true heroes, and we are endlessly grateful for your sacrifice and courage. Let’s all come together to support one another during this tough time. #ThankYouFirstResponders,” he added.
Here’s more on the wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area via Breitbart:
As Breitbart News reported, the fast-burning wildfire that broke out in the mountains above Pacific Palisades amid extreme high winds on Tuesday morning threatened homes and the local public school, which was evacuated. California firefighters are now prepared for the wildfire situation to worsen early Wednesday. Flames were being pushed by fierce Santa Ana winds topping 60 mph in some places. The winds were expected to increase overnight, producing isolated gusts that could top 100 mph in mountains and foothills — including in areas that haven’t seen substantial rain in months.
As of this writing, it’s been reported that over 1,000 structures have been obliterated in the fires. Breitbart said that most of these buildings were homes. How tragic for those who live in the path of these fires. Many of them will have to abandon their homes, which is full of their prized possessions, but even more than that, their memories. Where will they all go? Who will help take care of them? It probably won’t be the government. Just look at the horrific job they did in the wake of last year’s hurricanes.
Right now, very little of the fires have been brought under control.
