Is the FBI being upfront and forthright about what role it did or didn’t play in the January 6th, 2021 Capitol protest that the left is still using to hammer the GOP and Republicans?
No, no it isn’t, as was exposed in a recent hearing in which Senator Ted Cruz questioned the FBI’s Jill Sanborn about the FBI’s role in the Capitol riot and Sanborn was predictably unhelpful and unwilling to answer.
Cruz kicked things off by being direct, asking:
“I want to turn to the FBI. How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6th?”
Sanborn went with the usual response and decline to respond in any real manner, citing “sources and methods” as the reason why she couldn’t give a forthright answer about whether the FBI was involved and if so to what degree, responding by saying:
“Sir, I’m sure you appreciate that I can’t go into the specifics of sources and methods — ”
Cruz, at that point, cut her off, asking the same question again:
"*" indicates required fields
“Did any FBI agents or confidential informants actively participate in the events of January 6th, yes or no?”
And, as could be predicted, Sanborn, again refused to answer, saying “Sir, I can’t — I can’t answer that.”
Once again Cruz asked, only wanting a simple answer about whether the FBI was involved in the riot and protest, “Did any FBI agents or confidential informants commit crimes of violence on January 6th?”
Sanborn once again gave the typical response of a scheming bureaucrat trying to avoid responsibility or answering a question, saying “I can’t answer that, sir.”
So Cruz pressed yet again, saying “Did any FBI agents or FBI informants actively encourage and incite crimes of violence on January 6th?”
Once again Sanborn gave the same, unhelpful response, saying “I can’t answer that.”
Watch that here:
Ted Cruz FINALLY demands answers from the FBI about Jan 6th — the FBI’s answer is chilling

Cruz retweeted the video, sharing it with his followers and saying:
Is the kangaroo court in the House willing to press hard and get REAL answers as to what happened with the FBI on January 6? Or is this circus simply a failed Democrat campaign commercial?
One commenter responded in a way that many Americans will agree with, saying “This hearing is nothing but a kangaroo court with pre-determined outcome, barring any representation of the former President. Its like having a criminal trial where only the prosecution gets to present his case.”
This isn’t the first time that Senator Cruz has pressed the FBI over whether it was involved in the January 6th riot. He did so also back in January, pressing Sanborn over whether a mysterious man involved named “Ray Epps”, a provocateur who was egging people to rush into the building, was an FBI agent.
Predictably, Sanborn refused to answer that line of questioning either, not telling the Senator whether Ray Epps was an FBI agent or not.
These questions will only grow more important and pressing as the Democrats continue to use the riot as a political bludgeon against the GOP.
