Search Continues Throughout Everglades For “Person of Interest” Brian Laundrie

As of today, Sept 27, 2021, Brian Laundrie remains at large as the FBI uses everything they can from dogs, to drones, to physical eyes and ears in the 25,000 acre nature reserve to find him. Brian Laundrie left his parent’s home in North Port, Florida during a search for his fiancé, Gabby Petito.

The pair had gone out for a road trip, stopping in Colorado, Utah, and then made their way into Wyoming before Gabby Petito was killed. Her body was found during the search and the Wyoming Coroner’s Office confirmed not only was the body (which had matching tattoos) confirmed to Gabby, but that her death was ruled a homicide. The exact cause of death has not yet been announced or confirmed as the office is waiting for results and the completion of the autopsy.

Brian Laundrie was made a person of interest on September 15th, and his parents reported him missing two days later on the 17th. Now, the FBI has “reportedly asked for some of Brian Laundrie’s personal belongings to help them with DNA matching efforts, as Laundrie is a person of interest in the death of his fiancée, Gabby Petito, 22.” According to the Laundrie’s family attorney Steve Bertolino Brian’s parents gave the FBI, “what they could.”

Jumping in on the media circus surrounding the search for Laundrie, Dog the Bounty Hunter told Fox News just this morning that he’s received thousands of leads and thinks it will help him and his team to “zero-in” on Laundrie over the next forty-eight hours. Duane “Dog” Chapman attempted to speak to Laundrie’s parents but they refused.

Brian Laundrie returned to his parent’s home on Sept 1st, and Gabby wasn’t declared missing until Sept 11th. Her parents were alarmed to discover that after days of no contact with their daughter that Laundrie and the vehicle made it home, but Petito had not. According to “Dog” and those who know Laundrie best he will likely be hiding in the wilds that he knows best, as one of Petito’s best friends said he once lived in the Appalachian Mountains for months by himself.

There is a $30,000 reward for information leading to the finding of Brian Laundrie.

This is also not the only high-profile manhunt going on in Florida.

A marine who has allegedly killed a police officer is on the run as well. According to Fox News the manhunt, which is about 200+ strong, is entering it’s fourth day with schools in Nassau County on lockdown.

The 35 year-old Patrick McDowell is accused of murdering Deputy Josh Moyer during a traffic stop on Friday, September 24th. Deputy Moyer succumbed to his wounds at 2:19 PM on the following Sunday.

Like Laundrie, McDowell is also considered something of an outdoor expert and it is believed that he could survive on his own for months at a time while on the run in the wildlife of the Florida everglades. The reward for McDowell’s capture is $54,000. To aid in the capture of McDowell, “Sheriff Leeper on Monday morning swore in law enforcement members from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Charlton County, giving them authority to make an arrest in Nassau County.”
