We reported that legendary comedian and America’s “Dad”, Bob Saget died on January 9th, 2022. At the time, all that was known was that he had died and had been found in his hotel room after a performance in Jacksonville Florida the night before. Cops indicated no foul play and no signs of substance abuse were found in his room.
His family requested privacy, as per the norm. There were touching tributes and a funeral in the days that passed. We were told by both police and the family that the results from the autopsy could take any from 4 to 6 weeks on average, possibly up to 12 weeks due to being backlogged.
Possibly the saddest part of Bob’s death was his attitude about life. An addict in the past, he seemed to have rekindled his love for stand-up and was excited about the possibilities. Bob seemed to be fine, he even tweeted after the performance with a message that he was excited to keep performing his stand-up routines.
Loved tonight’s show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I’m happily addicted again to this shit. Check https://t.co/nqJyTiiezU for my dates in 2022. pic.twitter.com/pEgFuXxLd3

On February 9th, 2022, the family came out with a statement informing the world that the cause of death was that he slipped and hit his head. Saget then went to bed without realizing that he was suffering from a brain bleed and died.
“In the weeks since Bob’s passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful,” they wrote.
“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.”
“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
“As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”
But on February 13th, the autopsy report was discussed by multiple experts and more questions were raised than were answered. Several examiners have since made claims that the severity of the fractures on Bob Saget’s head are questionable, with one claiming the fractures ran from the tops of the orbital bones to the back of the skull.
Fox News spoke to an expert while also reporting on the Daily Mail’s report with another expert.

The outlet posted the autopsy report, which said Saget suffered multiple fractures stretching from the back to the front of the skull and along the eye sockets. It also revealed there was bleeding across both sides of his brain. The Daily Mail cited one report in which a doctor said the injuries in the autopsy appeared consistent with a blow to the skull with a baseball bat or falling 20 to 30 feet.
Davis, an emergency department physician and Assistant Professor at Hofstra University, on Long Island, N.Y., was not involved in Saget’s case, but told Fox News on Sunday, “The extent of injuries as reported by the autopsy is usually seen in significant traumatic events. It involved breaks in the bones of the skull in multiple areas which tends to happen with high force injuries.”
