Jamie Foxx disclosed the severe health issue that unexpectedly struck him last year, compelling him to seek urgent medical help. Speaking to fans in Phoenix, Arizona, Foxx recounted the beginning of his frightening experience. “Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil,” he said, capturing the abruptness of the incident with a snap of his fingers.
“I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx revealed in a video clip obtained by Fox News. The specifics of Foxx’s condition remain unclear, as the actor himself is unsure of the exact diagnosis. “I don’t remember anything,” he continued, recalling his treatment in Atlanta.
“So they told me—my sister and my daughter, they took me to the first doctor and they said… ‘nah,’ gave me a cortisone shot. The next doctor said, ‘Something’s going on up there.’ I won’t say it on camera, I won’t say it on camera. But it was …” Foxx said.
Despite the challenges, Foxx has begun to make public appearances again, sharing a video message last July to thank his fans for their support and patience. “I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through,” he stated in an Instagram post. “I know a lot of people were waiting, or wanting to hear updates, and to be honest with you – I just didn’t want you to see me like that. I’ve been sick, man, but now, I’ve got my legs under me, so you’re going to see me out,” he assured.

Connie Foxx, his daughter, initially informed the public about her father’s health crisis last April. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she wrote on social media, adding that the family appreciated the prayers and requested privacy.
Foxx’s career continues to thrive despite his health issues, with eight projects, including a Mike Tyson biopic, currently in production. He has also launched his own whiskey brand, a dream he pursued over the past year, finding new appreciation for life’s fragility.

“I’ve learned that life is precious, which is why it’s so important for us to go after what we want,” Foxx concluded.
