Former President Donald Trump held a press conference in Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday where he addressed not only the situation at the southern border, but the horrific murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, who was killed by an illegal immigrant, revealing he spoke with the victim’s parents who he stated “are devastated beyond belief.
And this is precisely why we need to build a wall along the border. It’s time for President Joe Biden to do his job and ensure that this country is secure from invaders and those who have crossed over illegally are immediately sent back to their countries of origin. This is no laughing matter. It’s a serious problem and it must be dealt with immediately before more innocent lives are taken and victims of serious crimes are created.

Riley, 22, was killed last week allegedly by 26-year-old Jose Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela who is accused of attacking Rileywhile she was on a run, “disfiguring her skull” and dragging her body to a secluded area. Trump called Riley a “great” and “beautiful” person “in so many ways” and slammed President Joe Biden for failing to address the nursing student’s murder.
“The monster that’s charged in the death is an illegal alien migrant who was let into our country and released into our communities by crooked Joe Biden,” Trump said, adding, “What [Biden] is doing is just unbelievable. Joe Biden will never say Laken Riley’s name, but we will say it, and we will remember it.”

The piece of filth who committed this horrific crime deserves to be given the death penalty for what he did to this young girl. Riley had her entire life ahead of her. All of the lives she could have helped save, all the people who would have benefited from her care and her skills in the medical field have been cheated. God, in the Holy Bible, commands and made law the death penalty for murderers.
Justice is about restoration. If a thief steals from you, justice would be getting back what was taken plus the value of the item as a fine to dissuade the person from doing it again. Or if the item already has been sold, then twice what the item was worth so the person can purchase new property to replace that which was stolen.
But how can one restore a life that was taken? You can’t. It’s impossible. Therefore, the murderer must forfeit his own life for the sake of justice. Also, someone who takes the life of another in an act of violence is likely to do so again. This prevents that from happening.

Both Trump and Biden are visiting the southern border on Thursday as the U.S. continues to face record numbers of illegal immigrants crossing into the country. While Trump visited the heavily trafficked Eagle Pass section of the southern border, Biden traveled to Brownsville, Texas, an area of the border that has seen fewer illegal crossings in recent weeks.
The border crisis has remained at the center of attention in the 2024 presidential election cycle as Riley’s murder and numerous other horrific crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants have dominated headlines in recent weeks. Earlier this month, ICE arrested 275 convicted sex predators who were illegal immigrants, and The Daily Wire reportedon Thursday that an illegal immigrant was arrested in Utah for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.
What really makes this whole situation so infuriating is that the Border Patrol actually had the man who is accused of murdering Riley in their custody on September 8, 2022 after they busted him illegally crossing into the U.S. near El Paso, Texas. However, he was cut loose for further processing according to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).
Later on, Ibarra was arrested again, last summer, by the NYPD and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17. Twice they had this man in custody. Twice the system failed. This must be fixed.
“Her love for the Lord was exemplified in every aspect of her life. She will be missed every day, but we promise to honor her life moving forward in a very big way,” Riley’s family said in a statement. “During this most difficult time, we ask that you respect our privacy, and provide us the time and space necessary to grieve our daughter’s life that was tragically cut short.”
