Former President Donald Trump is striking back at the Colorado Supreme Court over their decision last month to boot him off the primary ballot due to allegations he violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment by filing an appeal with the United States Supreme Court on Wednesday. The appeal came just a day after Trump filed an appeal concerning a similar decision that was made by the secretary of state in Maine.
The legal team representing the former president stated that the highest court in the land should take action to overturn the Colorado decision and “return the right to vote for their candidate of choice to the voters.”
Listen, the whole premise of the decision in both Colorado and in Maine is bogus in the first place. Trump did not participate in an insurrection, nor did he lead or cause one. People acted on their own accord. The former president made it clear in documented social media posts that he did not support acts of violence or vandalism, urging those in attendance at the demonstration to remain orderly. That hardly sounds like the words of someone fomenting a government overthrow.
That being said, what this is really about is ensuring Trump does not become the Republican Party nominee by any means necessary. We all know cheating is not something that beyond those in the Democratic Party. Quite clearly, the 45th president of the United States is someone the left-wing in America desperately fears. If they didn’t, why slap him with 90 plus charges, four indictments, and then boot him from ballots?
The fear they have of this man simply cannot be quantified.
“The question of eligibility to serve as President of the United States is properly reserved for Congress, not the state courts, to consider and decide. By considering the question of President Trump’s eligibility and barring him from the ballot, the Colorado Supreme Court arrogated Congress’ authority,” the appeal went on to say.

In a 4-3 decision last month, the Colorado Supreme Court found Trump ineligible to appear on the ballot, claiming he had participated in an “insurrection,” but placed the ruling on hold until January 4, pending an expected appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Trump’s appeal says that the Colorado Supreme Court misinterpreted the facts and that he was not guilty of insurrection on January 6, 2021. “It was not ‘insurrection’ and President Trump in no way ‘engaged’ in ‘insurrection,’” the appeal says.
The filing pointed to Trump’s remarks on January 6, where he told his supporters to “peacefully” protest the 2020 election.
“We are reviewing Trump’s appeal and will be filing our response tomorrow to ensure the Colorado Supreme Court’s historic ruling stands,” stated Eric Olson, an attorney who represented the Colorado residents who filed the lawsuit to try and remove Trump from office.
The former president and current frontrunner for the Republican nomination will be allowed to be on the Colorado ballot for now thanks to a previous appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court by the Colorado Republican Party.
“With the appeal filed, Donald Trump will be included as a candidate on Colorado’s 2024 Presidential Primary Ballot when certification occurs on January 5, 2024, unless the U.S. Supreme Court declines to take the case or otherwise affirms the Colorado Supreme Court ruling,” Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s office stated in remarks delivered last week.
The more they attack Trump, the higher his poll numbers rise. Yet, here they are, still trying to take him out. When will the left ever learn?
