Former President Donald Trump has been enjoying insanely high polling numbers ever since his campaign was launched, but the latest data coming in from Real Clear Politics, which has created a national average from polls around the country shows him at the highest he’s been yet. But that’s not all. He’s not just skunking the competition in the Republican Party primary, but he’s now taking a consistent lead over President Joe Biden in a hypothetical match up for the general election as well.
If you turn down your television, take out your ear buds, and just sit in pure silence, for just a few moments, you’ll be able to hear it. The sound of millions of radical left-wingers crying out in despair as they sink to the floor and curl up in the fetal position as the possibility of Trump getting another term in the White House increases.
Here’s more on this from the Daily Wire:
Trump is polling at a dominant 63.8% in RCP’s average of national Republican primary polls as of Friday morning. The former president holds a 52-point lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (11.6%), who has dropped nearly three points since last month and is now neck-and-neck with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (10.8%).
The Republican candidates are just weeks away from their first true test in the Iowa caucuses on January 15 and then the first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire on January 23. Trump’s polling lead in Iowa stands at 32 points as he pulls 51.3% support to DeSantis’ 18.6% and Haley’s 16.1%. In New Hampshire, Trump has a less comfortable lead, sitting at 46.3% while Haley comes in second at 24.8%.
The latest polls of Iowa and New Hampshire showed Haley on an upward trajectory. In Iowa, the former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. was tied with DeSantis for second place at 17% in the latest InsiderAdvantage poll, while she led DeSantis 17% to 15% in an Emerson survey conducted last weekend. The most recent Fox Business poll of Iowa showed DeSantis leading Haley 18% to 16% while Trump remained the dominant leader at 52%.
A poll for the state of New Hampshire that was produced by St. Anselm has revealed Trump taking a 14-point lead over Haley. In this particular poll, the former commander-in-chief is sitting at 44 percent, while the former governor of South Caroline has 30 percent. Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey has 12 percent, taking third place. Following behind the three top candidates is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at six percent, with Vivek Ramaswamy at 5 percent.
I’m honestly shocked to see Haley ahead of DeSantis, especially given she’s backed by every major player in the GOP establishment, or at least, it seems like it. Do people really dislike DeSantis this much now? Why? Is it because they feel he “betrayed” Trump by entering the race? I mean, I understand that point of view, but to support Haley over someone who has done such amazing work? Something seems off about that.
A UMass Lowell poll of 450 likely primary voters conducted earlier this month had markedly different results, showing Trump at 52%, Haley at 22%, DeSantis in third at 10%, Christie at 6%, and Ramaswamy at 4%.
Most early polls of the 2024 general election also show Trump in the lead. As of Friday morning, the former president leads Biden 46.8% to 44.5% in the RCP average. Trump’s polling lead comes amid even more controversy surrounding the former president after a Colorado Supreme Court ruling banned him from the state’s ballot. The state Supreme Court’s ruling cited the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause, arguing that he took part in an insurrection on January 6, 2021, “inciting the crowd that breached the U.S. Capitol.”
At the end of the day, the reason Trump is fairing so well against Biden is because he’s the cure for the left’s poison. We’ve seen what Trump will do from the Oval Office, and we know that all Americans, regardless of political party affiliation, will ultimately be far, far better off with Trump in office than Biden. The current administration has made shipwreck of the country and its economy. People are getting hit hard in the bank account and as such, they are throwing their support behind the candidate they believe will be facing off against Biden in the general election next year.
