Republican Sen. Rand Paul’s office, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was heavily damaged by a fire on Friday morning. According to The Daily Caller, the blaze did some significant damage to a commercial building located on State Street that houses Paul’s office, Dezign Tees, the Bowling Green Daily News, and the law office of Kerrick Bachert. As you can imagine, a lot of people are wondering what the cause of the fire was, some likely speculating it may have been started on purpose, especially since Paul has been in the news this week going hot and heavy after former Director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci.
As of now, there’s no reason to think that’s the case as we do not know or have any sort of evidence indicating the actual cause of the fire. A whole lot of different things could have happened to start it without requiring malicious intent.
A spokeswoman for the Bowling Green Fire Department revealed that local authorities arrived on the scene around 1:45 a.m. The roof of the building caved in, she continued, noting that it sustain some heavy structural damage.

“We are thankful for the Bowling Green first responders who arrived quickly to the scene to put out the fire, and are continuing to work with authorities to assess damages and to determine a cause. We have a very well established emergency management plan and have the ability to continue operations that will not impact our work helping Kentuckians,” Sen. Rand Paul went on to say in a statement delivered to the Daily Caller.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing, according to the spokeswoman. A total of thirty-one firefighters responded to the call about the blaze. Tree limbs were cut down in order to gain access to the second floor of the building.
Earlier this week, according to a report from The Daily Wire, Paul’s passionate desire to hold Fauci accountable for potentially lying to Congress about knowledge and federal funding of gain-of-function experiments at Wuhan University and the Wuhan Institute of Virology were rejuvenated by newly released emails dating from 2020.
“The Kentucky Republican wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland last week, saying Fauci had committed perjury when he told a Senate committee in July 2021 that the National Institutes of Health ‘has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).’ Fauci served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984-2022; NIAID is one of the 27 Institutes and Centers of the National Institutes of Health (NIH),” the report said.
Paul is requesting that the Justice Department launch an investigation into Fauci for allegedly committing perjury in his testimony before Congress. What are the chances of that happening? Basically slim to none. Even if it does, the investigation will go nowhere. And we all know why.
Garland has transformed the DOJ into a political weapon to take down people like Paul and any conservative who dares to speak out against the leftist agenda. There’s no way they’d attack one of their own, not in a significant way. That is the unfortunate reality of the world we live in at the moment.
