A new report from The Daily Wire has revealed that Fox News is once again shaking things up, this time firing one of the most annoying liberal voices in mainstream media, Geraldo Rivera, from his spot on the hit show, “The Five.” I don’t really think anyone is going to miss the guy, if I’m being totally honest. He was a bit of a jerk.
“Bumpy day on the North Atlantic. Anyway, I got fired from @TheFive so I quit Fox,” Rivera stated in a post published on Twitter. “After 23 years tomorrow ‘Fox and Friends’ could be my last appearance on the network. Thanks for the memories.”
Rivera posted a video concerning the situation on Thursday, where he stated he would talk more about it during his appearance on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning. Because we are all so desperate to hear his thoughts on the firing, right? Just ride off into the sunset and retire from public life. Please and thank you.

A week ago, Rivera made the announcement he would be exiting the program. What he didn’t reveal at the time was that he had been fired from the show. Gee, wonder why he didn’t share that information right off the bat?
“Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive,” he stated on Twitter at the time. “My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

During an interview with the Associated Press, Rivera said he would be leaving “The Five” due to “a growing tension that goes beyond editorial differences and personal annoyances and gripes.”
“It has been a rocky ride but it has also been an exhilarating adventure that spanned quite a few years,” he stated during the conversation with the AP. “I hope it’s not my last adventure.”
Apparently, Rivera was hoping to garner some sympathy when he revealed that the folks calling the shots at Fox News “didn’t race after me to say, ‘Geraldo, please come back.'” Well, if the guy was causing an unpleasant working environment — he definitely created one for viewers — it’s not hard to imagine why they weren’t beating his door down to keep him on the show.
“The 79-year-old ex-friend of former President Donald Trump said that ‘under no circumstances do I think Donald Trump should be president of the United States again, and that’s an important message I am committed to bringing to the American people between now and November 2024,'” the report stated.
Geraldo then stated that his views on Trump, which are par for the course when it comes to liberals, caused a significant amount of friction on the program.
“I’m 80 years old,” he explained. “I don’t want the friction. ‘The Five’ is too intimate a place and it gets too personal.”
Time to retire, Geraldo. Just call it a day. Don’t try to pull a Tucker Carlson because unlike that former Fox News host, no one wants to hear your bloviating. In fact, we’d pay a subscription fee to NOT hear your ridiculous takes.
Just go home, dude.
